Belle Vue can give up two to visiting Eastbourne

BELLE VUE look worth a small bet giving up two points at home to Eastbourne tonight.

The Aces were trounced 51-42 by Lakeside here last week but the Essex side look a strong outfit this term and arguably Eastbourne do not have the same strength in depth.

Belle Vue have Rory Schlein, Adam Shields and Charlie Gjedde as heat leaders and all three are capable of better than that they have shown so far this term.

Shields, in particular, had more than his fair share of injury problems last year but should be capable of scoring more
than the five points he accrued last Monday.

Adam Skornicki, a short-term replacement, is a good operator at this level and scored plenty of points in Poland on Sunday.

Reserves Linus Eklof and Josh Grajczonek were not disgraced last week and Pole Marcel Kajzer cannot get any less points than he got on his debut last week.

Eastbourne traditionally are much stronger at Arlington than they are away from Sussex. The Eagles have Ben Barker replacing the injured Joonas Kylmakorpi tonight and, although he has made a fine start to the campaign for Birmingham and Plymouth, his gating is often his Achilles heel and he could struggle to come from behind at Kirkmanshulme Lane.

Simon Gustafsson is also a slight worry for Eastbourne as he suffered a fall in Poland last week and may not be at his best.

Recommendation

Belle Vue -2, 1pt 10-11 Boylesports, Blue Square, Stan James
