Leinster 3-1 to claim Heineken Cup hat-trick
LEINSTER are 3-1 with Ladbrokes for a Heineken Cup hat-trick after they comprehensively beat Ulster 42-14 at Twickenham on Saturday to claim an unprecedented third success in four years in Europe's primary competition.
Leo Cullen’s charges, seven-point handicap favourites for the final and 5-1 favourites at the outset in November, led 14-6 at half-time courtesy of converted Sean O’Brien and Cian Healy tries. O’Brien was 20-1 for the match’s first try.
A penalty try and touchdowns for fellow pack men Sean Cronin and Heinke van der Merwe confirmed Leinster’s supremacy over Ulster, who were 66-1 at the start of the tournament.
Ladbrokes – to win 2012-13 Heineken Cup: 3 Leinster, 33 Ulster.
