Leicester up to second after thrashing Saints

Some stunning results in the Aviva Premiership yesterday means that the battles for play-off home ties, play-off places, final Heineken Cup spots and relegation are all still intense.

First Leicester thumped Northampton at Franklin's Gardens to move into second in the table and push the Saints down to fifth if Exeter won at Worcester.

Which the Chiefs did with two late tries.

At the same time bottom-placed Newcastle stunned then sixth-placed Gloucester to move within four points of Wasps.

Wasps then lost 33-17 at leaders Harlequins in the late game.

And the remaining two rounds of fixtures feature some crunch and fascinating fixtures including Exeter hosting Northampton on Sunday.
