Lambert's Villa 4-1 for six-point Canaries haul

PAUL LAMBERT was appointed Aston Villa manager on Saturday morning and his new charges are 4-1 with bet365 to claim six points from their two Premier League meetings with old club Norwich next season.

Villa are also 4-9 with bet365 to finish above the Canaries in the league (Ladbrokes offer the same match bet have the Norfolk outfit at 11-5 to finish higher than the Midlanders for a second season on the spin; xxth to xxth) while the firm make them 4-6 to have a better top-flight campaign than West Brom (11-10).

BetVictor can't split Villa and Stoke - at 7-4 - in their Top Midlands Premier League club special with the Baggies at  15-8.

BetVictor have also chalked up 66-1 about a Villa top-four finish and 16-1 about a surge into the top six.

Coral offer 9-4 about a Villa top-ten berth but Boylesports are a bit more bullish, going 8-15 about a bottom-half finish.

However, Boylesports are less keen on Lambert still being at the Villa Park helm on the first day of the 2013-14 campaign. They are 4-9 yes (13-8 no) while Coral are 10-3 no (1-5 yes).

Villa are 20-1 with Ladbrokes to win a major trophy under Lambert next season and the firm make Norwich's wantaway striker Grant Holt 13-8 to follow his former boss to Villa Park this summer.

Coral go 8-11 about no Canaries players switching to Villa in the current transfer window, offer 13-8 about one and 5-1 about two or more. The firm are also 4-1 about Lambert being the next Scotland manager.

Norwich are now no bigger than 7-4 for relegation while Villa are 8-1 for the drop into the Championship.
