Key Patriot Gronkowski still hopeful of Bowl role

ROB GRONKOWSKI remains 10-1 third favourite to win the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award on Sunday as New England stay confident their star tight end will be able to face the New York Giants in Indianapolis.

The Patriots are general three-point favourites for the big game but Paddy Power are tempting favourite backers with their
2.5-point line at 5-6.

Gronkowski has not practised in public since spraining his ankle in the AFC Championship win over Baltimore but was walking with no trouble as the Patriots arrived in Indy and said to the media on Wednesday: "I feel better every day, and that's the goal. That's the positive direction. You want to be moving forward every, single day. If you're moving backwards, that's not good at all. The rehab is going well, and we're on pace.".

He is the 6-1 favourite to score the first touchdown and only quarterbacks Tom Brady (6-5) and Eli Manning (9-4) are ahead of him in the market for the MVP award.
