Italy through as Three Lions lose on penalties
ITALY are through to the semi-finals of Euro 2012 after a dramatic
penalty shootout success against England in Kiev last night.
The Azzurri, who meet Germany in the semi-finals, are 7-1 with Blue Square to win the tournament and there can be no doubt the better team is through to the last four.
Roy Hodgson’s side were ahead on penalties when Ricardo Montolivo shot wide but Ashley Young hit the crossbar and Ashley Cole saw his effort saved by Gigi Buffon.
