Hammers stay in race for automatic promotion

AN exciting conclusion to the Championship season is in store after
West Ham kept alive their slim hopes of automatic promotion with a 2-1 victory away to Leicester on Monday.

The Hammers came from behind to secure the spoils with goals from
Winston Reid and Jack Collison and are now just two points behind
second-placed Southampton.

The final acts of drama will be playedout in front of the Sky
television cameras on Saturday afteroon with Southampton entertaining relegated Coventry at the same time as West Ham host eighth-placed Hull.

But boomakers are still heavily favouring the Saints, who are
1-8 to win promotion while the Irons are available at 6-4.

A Southampton victory would guarantee them a place in the Premier
League while a draw would leave West Ham needing to beat Hull by at least three goals.

There is a possibility ofboth teams finishing with identical points, goal difference and goals scored but, if that were to be the case, Southampton would be promoted by virtue of their better head-to-head record in matches between the teams.
