Good news and bad news for Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH’S long-term future looks a little more secure after their major creditor Balram Chainrai submitted a new offer to bring the club out of administration.

BetVictor responded by pricing up the League One relegation market, but they have installed Pompey, who will be deducted ten points when they come out of administration, as the 8-15 favourites to go down.

Walsall and Leyton Orient are rated the next most likely for a bottom-four finish at 5-4 and 15-8.

Chainrai’s company Portpin and rival bidder the Portsmouth Supporters Trust have a CVA agreed by creditors which would pay them two pence for every pound they are owed.

Eden Hazard was at the fore again for Chelsea as they came from 2-1 down to defeat Reading 4-2 in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

The Belgian has laid on five of the Blues’ six goals, prompting Boylesports to bet on how many assists he will complete before the end of the season.

They bet 2-1 that he achieves more than 20 and offer 6-1 about fewer than ten.

Hazard is still waiting for his first Chelsea goal but he notched 20 league goals for Lille last year and is just 7-4 with Hills to net during Saturday’s clash at home to Newcastle.

The firm go 11-8 that Hazard fails to score during any of Chelsea’s next four matches.

Chelsea are three points clear at the top of the embryonic league table and have been trimmed to a best-priced 9-2 in the title betting.

West Ham are close to clinching the signing of winger Matt Jarvis from Wolves after agreeing a reported £10.75m deal for him.

Jarvis could make his debut in Saturday’s Premier League clash at Swansea and could be up against South Korean midfielder Ki Sung-Yueng, who is close to joining the Swans in a £6m deal from Celtic. Ki was part of the South Korean team who won a bronze medal at the Olympic games and had emerged as a star player at Celtic, where he scored nine goals in 66 league games.

Blackburn were cut to 9-1 in the Championship title betting on Wednesday night after a second-half goal from Colin Kazim-Richards earned them  a 1-0 victory at home to Hull.
