Germany shorten further after comfortable victory
GERMANY hardened to 15-8 favourites from 9-4 to win Euro 2012 after a comfortable 4-2 quarter-final success over Greece in Gdansk.
Joachim Low’s side cruised through and will meet either Italy or England in Warsaw in the semi-finals. Not only will the Germans have had 48 hours extra to prepare for the clash but Low also had the luxury of rotating his squad with Thomas Muller, Lukas Podolski and Mario Gomez left out of the starting 11 for the total mismatch against Greece.
The decision to drop Gomez was a blow to backers of the Golden Boot favourite and the Bayern Munich forward is out to 9-4 with Paddy Power to finish the tournament as the top marksman.
Gomez cannot be considered a certainty to get back into the team after replacement Miroslav Klose scored and Power make the veteran 25-1 to claim the Golden Boot. Marco Reus made a goalscoring impression on his first appearance of Euro 2012 and Hills make him a 40-1 shot to be top of the charts.
A Spain versus Germany final was cut to 9-4 with BetVictor and Mesut Ozil is 6-1 with Hills to be named as the player of the tournament.
