Flying Tigers evens to claim Grand Final glory
LEICESTER are evens favourites for Aviva Premiership Grand Final glory on May 26 after finishing the regular season on Saturday with an eighth win on the spin.
But the Tigers’ charge came too late to deny Harlequins top spot in the table and they welcome champions Saracens, who finished third, to Welford Road for Saturday’s second semi-final.
Quins, 12-1 for league success before the off in September, are 10-3 for a Twickenham triumph before they host Northampton at the Stoop in the first semi.
Sarries are 4-1 for back-to-back titles while the Saints are 5-1
outsiders of four.
Newcastle won 14-10 at Wasps but it was not enough to move
them above their hosts and off the bottom of the table.
The Falcons, who had been ante-post favourites to finish last, will know their relegation fate only after the Championship Final second leg on May 30.
