Fairyhouse 'not quite over line' for Saturday

FAIRYHOUSE will inspect again at 10.30am, with the course 'not quite over the line' in its bid to be the only jump meeting to survive in Britain and Ireland on Saturday.

Following an inspection at 8am course manager Peter Roe reported things to be improving, but not quickly enough for the green light yet.

He said: "We'll look again at ten thirty. Temperatures are improving, and significantly from last night but we're not quite over the line yet. We've had half a millimetre of rain, the temperature is seven degrees [at 8.15am] and forecast to get to ten degrees."
