England eased to 12-1 for Poland and Ukraine win

THERE is an absence of St George's flags in the streets as enthusiasm for Euro 2012 has failed to grip England supporters and BetVictor have pushed Roy Hodgson's Three Lions out to 12-1 to be triumphant in Poland and Ukraine next month.

Hodgson's team head to Norway on Saturday night for their first game under the management of the former West Brom boss without Wayne Rooney, who will be suspended for their first two group games.

BetVictor are also refunding losing stakes if holders Spain win the tournament and bet365 have reported little interest in the World Cup winners at 11-4.

Spokesman Steve Freeth said: "Spain are on the drift and at the moment there aren't too many clambering to get on the holders with teams such as Italy, Portugal and Poland attracting more interest at bigger prices."

England are 7-4 to be the top scorers in a match bet against Ireland, Scotland and Wales this week, with Giovanni Trapattoni's side 6-4 with bet365 to score the most goals of the weekend.

Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy pulled out of the squad on Friday with a broken finger and will be replaced as Hodgson's third custodian by Birmingham youngster Jack Butland.

Butland, who spent much of last season on loan at League Two Cheltenham, is 25-1 to play in the finals.
