England 13-2 to level series with Leeds success

ENGLAND fought back on the second day of the second Test against South Africa at Headingley although bookmakers reckon that the draw is by far the most likely outcome at 1-2.

Opener Alviro Petersen dominated South Africa’s innings, bouncing back from his duck in the first Test with a career-best 182 as the tourists posted a total of 419.

Petersen had been 11-2 to top-score for his side in the first innings while Stuart Broad was the pick of the England bowlers with 3-96.

South Africa’s attack was unable to make an early breakthrough, however, as openers Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook saw England to 48-0 at the close.

England are 13-2 to win the Test and level the series at one apiece while the Proteas are 4-1.
