England 11-10 for T20s after securing ODI sweep
KEVIN PIETERSEN’S second century in a row helped England to a four-wicket win over Pakistan in Dubai on Tuesday that completed a 4-0 series victory.
Pietersen made a brilliant 130 as England chased down a target of 238 to clinch the whitewash, a correct score that had been an 18-1 chance at the beginning of the series.
And Pietersen’s knock meant a great series for Ladbrokes
customers as the firm offered to refund losing match bets on any game in which an England batsman scored a century.
Alastair Cook reached three figures in the first two ODIs
before KP took over in the third and fourth games. Ladbrokes spokesman Alex Donohue said: “The four consecutive centuries have cost us around £150,000 but we’re still offering a refund if a century is scored by either side in the first Twenty20 game.”
Bookmakers are anticipating a tight contest in the three 20-over game series, which starts on Thursday.
Hills, who go 11-2 about an England clean sweep, make the tourists 11-10 while Pakistan are evens with BetVictor.
Pietersen is 16-1 with Hills to make it three tons on the trot and 5-1 to reach three figures in any of the crash-bang-wallop contests.
