England 1-14 for Lord's victory as Bell sparkles

ENGLAND were no bigger than 1-14 on Saturday night to win the first Test at Lord’s after West Indies were 120-4 intheir second innings and still 35 runs behind at the close of day three.

Three Lions skipper Andrew Strauss, 9-2 on Thursday morning to head the home list, could add only one more run to his overnight score of 121 but 61 from Ian Bell and a late Graeme Swann cameo ensured a healthy lead.

And the 33-1 Windies were soon in trouble at 36-3 on the stroke of tea. The draw has been eased to 16-1 with a rainless forecast for Sunday and Monday.
