City back in title race as Wigan shock Red Devils
MANCHESTER UNITED’S lead at the top of the Premier League has been cut to five points after a sensational night of action in the Premier League.
The Red Devils had been as short as 1-100 with Blue Square yesterday morning, but after they were beaten 1-0 at Wigan and second-placed Manchester City thrashed West Brom 4-0 the same firm go 1-6 United, with City best at 9-2 with bet365.
United had won their previous nine league games but looked lethargic and 9-1 underdogs Wigan took full advantage with Shaun Maloney scoring a sensational second-half winner.
City alwayslooked like beating West Brom and Sergio Aguero scored twice while Carlos Tevez and David Silva also notched. Ladbrokes reacted to Tevez’s goal by cutting him from 7-4 to 6-5 to stay with the club next season.
QPR secured a crucial 3-0 victory at home to Swansea and they are out to 6-5 with Hills to go down. But it was another bad night for Terry Connor’s Wolves who lost 3-0 against Arsenal, which prompted Boylesports to pay out on Wanderers to be relegated.
Hills quote Wolves at 18-1 to lose all five of their remaining games.
