Cisse's superstrike 11-10 for goal of the season

IT was a moment of brilliance that stunned Stamford Bridge and
everyone who has since seen it but still Papiss Cisse’s wonderstrike for Newcastle against Chelsea is not favourite with Hills to win Match of the Day’s goal of the season award.

Cisse’s swerving thunderbolt on Wednesday has been backed from 6-5 to 11-10 but Hills still prefer Peter Crouch’s cracking volley against Manchester City at evens with Luis Suarez’s long-range effort in the win over Norwich 6-1 and it’s 16-1 for the BBC to select any other goal.

Whoever wins, there is no doubt that Cisse is the man of the moment in the Premier League after taking his tally to 13, a mind-boggling figure when you consider the Senegal striker made his debut only in February.

Bet365, who are factoring in the probability of Senegal qualifying for the 2013 African Nations Cup in South Africa, quote Cisse a 20-1 shot to win next season’s Premier League Golden Boot with Hills offering just 12-1. He is 5-6 with bet365 to notch at least 14 times in England’s top flight in the 2012-13 campaign and Hills go 5-2 that Cisse can overcome the
20-goal barrier in his second season.

Cisse’s ability will be no surprise to those who saw him regularly hit the target for lowly German outfit Freiburg – the 26-year-old hit 22 Bundesliga goals last season – and wealthier clubs may be queueing up for his signature. Hills make Chelsea 6-1 to sign him from Newcastle, who are 3-1 to finish in the top four.

Tottenham are 2-9 to grab a top-four slot and Ladbrokes make Harry Redknapp 8-1 to ever manage England after he was snubbed in favour of Roy Hodgson. Redknapp is 7-2 to leave Spurs this summer and Ladbrokes cut him to 12-1 from 33-1 to become Chelsea’s next boss.
