Carroll pounces to dent Blackburn survival hopes

BLACKBURN are 5-6 to be relegated after losing 3-2 to ten-man Liverpool on Tuesday night.

In a remarkable game at Ewood Park, a Maxi Rodriguez brace put the visitors 2-0 up early on before their goalkeeper Doni was sent off.

Yakubu saw the subsequent penalty saved but struck twice to level the game before Andy Carroll grabbed a late winner for the Reds.

The defeat leaves Blackburn 18th in the table, above Wolves  – 1-100 for the drop – and Wigan, who are 8-13 to go down.

Liverpool are still a point behind rivals Everton, who they face in the FA Cup semi-final this weekend, but are now 1-2 with Hills to finish above the Toffees. Everton are 6-4 to finish higher.

Hills and Ladbrokes both go 5-6 that Kenny Dalglish starts next season as the club’s manager. He is 5-6 to have left Anfield before the start of the 2012-13 campaign.

Carroll is 9-2 with Hills to be part of England's Euro 2012 squad and 4-7 with the firm to be a Liverpool player at the start of next season. Heis 5-4 to have left Anfield and loan deals count.
