The F1 Drivers champion had seemingly been nailed on for the end of year award prior to Monday's announcement of the 10-strong shortlist, but such has been the support for Giggs throughout Wednesday that he may not be favourite at all by the time the gala night finally arrives.
A 16-1 shot on Monday morning, Giggs had been backed in to 9-2 by close of play on Tuesday and by the time of writing he was no better than 3-1, two points shorter than Jessica Ennis.
The Welsh wizard is as short as 5-2 with Paddy Power and there appears no stopping what has turned out to be a monster plunge.
