JENSON BUTTON has been well backed to sign for McLaren following Brawn's sale to Mercedes on Monday.

The new owners appear set to sign Nico Rosberg and Nick Heidfied and HIllsmake the 2009 Drivers Champion 1-2 to start the 2010 season alongside fellow Brit Lewis Hamilton.

The firm also offer 13-8 that he stays put.

If the move does come off Button is likely to receive a hefty a pay hike, but he may find himself playing second fiddle to Hamilton.

The 2008 champion is the man in possession at McLaren and having watched as Button took his title, he will keen to prove himself the better man now that they are in the same car.

"Jenson is in a difficult position as he is likely to be number two driver if, as expected, he joins McLaren," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.

The firm make Hamilton 1-2 to outscore his fellow Brit in 2010 and McLaren 4-11 to finish higher in the Constructor's Championship than the newly christened Mercedes GP team.
