Are Fulham a bet too good to be true?
Sometimes a Premier League match comes along that looks ridiculously easy to call. Fulham, who take on Sunderland at Craven Cottage today, are great at home and score bundles of goals (only Manchester United had notched more before yesterday's action).
The visitors, in contrast, have scored seven goals in the league all season and the only bloke they can rely on up front, Steven Fletcher, is an injury doubt.
I've been really impressed by Fulham this term. Everyone knows about Dimitar Berbatov's quality but the brooding Bulgarian has got some serious competition in the flair stakes from team-mate Bryan Ruiz.
Where has Bryan Ruiz been all my life? More to the point, as Fulham fans may well ask, where was he last season? The answer is: on the subs' bench, mainly, and occasionally disappearing down blind alleys on the left wing.
Now, though, he's playing a key role in Martin Jol's gung-ho Fulham side and staking a claim for the title of 'World's Coolest Bryan'. Yes, Bryan Ferry, you'd better raise your game, pal. I can't see Sunderland raising their game so Fulham look home bankers today.
