Hammers should be happy with transfer trades

TRANSFER deadline day: you do it to me every time.

After every one I vow not to spend all day sitting on my backside getting excited only to be disappointed and it’s happened again. I’ve fallen for it and it’s just dawned on me that I have wasted hours doing nothing but stare at my telly waiting for a bloke outside a training ground to tell me something may be about to happen. Or maybe not.

It’s been the same old, same old. Arsenal don’t sign anyone, Tottenham go on a last-minute supermarket sweep around Europe and there’s a million and one rumours doing the rounds of which three usually turn out to be true. At least Ryan Babel was on the move again, although it seems he didn’t use his helicopter which is a shame.

Lets focus on the stuff that really matters, the football, and West Ham look a bet to me to beat Fulham.

The Hammers are a happy bunch at the moment and rightly so after signing a £35m striker for nothing and Andy Carroll could be the difference between the London rivals at Upton Park.

I know big Sam Allardyce preaches the beautiful game but I am sure he will find a way to go against his principles to lump it up to big Andy who will knock it down for big Kevin Nolan, who will no doubt pop up with his customary one-yard screamer which involves fouling as many Fulham opponents as possible without the ref spotting any infringments.

Dennis Bergkamp travels better than Fulham and even the short 15-mile journey could be too much for the Cottagers who nearly always roll over away from their place by the Thames.

What do we spend the West Ham winnings on I hear you ask? It’s all going on Wigan to beat Stoke. Get this, Wigan have won nine of their last 12 matches - that would be title-winning form if anyone else was producing those kind of results - and that’s more than enough to beat those pretty-passing Potters.

Anyway, I’m off to watch Sky Sports News again, I’ve just heard Daniel Levy has put in a cheeky bid for Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta, while Nicklas Bendtner is about to sign for Juventus.

Ha Ha, yeah right, as if Juventus would want Nicky B.
