Battling Murray 4-9 for first final at Wimbledon

ANDY MURRAY is 5-1 to win Wimbledon after recovering from the brink of a two-set deficit to beat David Ferrer in the quarter-finals
on Wednesday.

Murray, who had been a 4-9 shot to win the match, was matched at just under 5-2 on Betfair as he faced a set-point in a second-set
tie-break.

However, he turned around that situation and improved as the match
went on to overcome Ferrer’s dogged challenge 6-7 7-6 6-4 7-6.

Next up for Murray is powerful Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and he is 4-9 to reach his first final at the All England Club.

Blue Square make Murray even money to be runner-up, indicating the winner is likely to come from the semi-final between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer, who both won in straight sets.

Djokovic didn’t have it all his own way against Florian Mayer,
although having gone a break behind during the first set the world No. 1 soon broke back and ran away with the match.

Bookmakers are expecting a similar story on Friday when Djokovic meets Federer at Wimbledon for the first time. Djokovic is biggest at 4-9 as he aims for his sixth victory in the pair’s last seven meetings,
though Federer will be feeling confident after thrashing Mikhail
Youzhny.
