PHIL TAYLOR and Raymond van Barneveld, currently the darts world's greatest rivals in terms of quality, will do battle first on Sunday afternoon for a place in the evening's Grand Slam of Darts final in Wolverhampton.
Taylor, who has won the first two Slams held as well as his myriad of other titles including of course 14 World Championships, is no bigger than 1-7 to prevail.
Barney, a five-time champion of the world, is priced-up at 5-1 to come out on top after what is likely to be a titanic tungsten tussle over the best of 31 legs at a raucous Civic Hall.
Certainly the crowds were lively on Saturday night when the Power turned the lights out on Tony O'Shea with a 16-7 success and Barney dispatched Kevin Painter 16-6.
In the second semi-final, Scott Waites is a standout 7-4 to continue his stunning run when he locks horns with Terry Jenkins.
Waites added Simon Whitlock to the scalps of Gary Anderson, Wayne Mardle and current BDO king Ted Hankey. He had lost 5-4 to the Aussie wizard in the group stages but gained revenge with a 16-13 triumph.
However, the Bull is 4-7 with Coral and Sportingbet to prevail after accounting for Robert Thornton 16-9 after edging out James Wade in a decider. Jenkins had already qualified for the second round when he lost his sole group game to Adrian Lewis.
