Moon leads the way as WSOP final resumes

After a 115-day break the 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event resumes at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino on Saturday, where one of the remaining nine finalists will win over $8.5m in prize-money and a prestigious Championship bracelet.

The finalists beat off competition from nearly 6,500 entrants in the $10,000 buy-in No Limit Hold'em event which kicked off in July.

When the players take their seats at noon Vegas time, chip leader Darvin Moon will be on the button. Moon looks to be in control of the table, as he starts with 60m chips - his nearest challenger is New Yorker Eric Buchman, who has just short of 35m chips.

However, few will underestimate poker legend Phil Ivey, despite the fact he holds under 10m in chips.

Flying the flag for England is James Akenhead, 26, from London, who is the short stack with 6.8m chips.

When play begins antes will stand at $30,000 and the blinds are $120,000- $240,000.
