Hutton is last bounty player to fall in tourney
THE Racing Post Poker December Bounty tournament was won on Saturday night by acer001 who takes home winnings of $110. The best performing bounty player was tipster Ben "frankmagnet" Hutton who finished seventh overall.
Racing Post Poker expert Matt "Gunsmoke 2" Robinson (11th) perished at the hands of holyghost1 (9th) while the Post's feature writer and top blogger Steve "Booleroo" Dennis (22nd) succumbed to the might of mwoodward (18th).
Hutton was stopped by reelj who, like all those who knocked out bounty players, picks up a $50 reward. Reelj will add that cash to his $44 prize money for finishing third overall.
Second with $66 of winnings was nutson1.
Hutton said: "I can't remember ever having such an intense game of poker, but it was also tremendously good fun and there was some excellent banter on the table from some thoroughly nice people - although this niceness may have in order to distract meand make me hit the all-in button.
"I was thoroughly chuffed with finishing seventh and going out with ace-nine, as I was favourite prior to the three-way flop. My one regret is not going all-in when Matt did so, as I think I'm right in saying I would have won the hand with ace-two, which would have given me every chance of winning the whole thing."
Dennis said: "For one brief, shining moment I was chip leader. Top o' the world, Ma. About halfan hour later I was out, the 22nd to go, trying to make my pair of nines beat some other fella's pair of aces and failing miserably. I was at the table for less than an hour, and it was quite a letdown to go so soon.
"It was agreat laugh, though, and I'm definitely in again next time. I may play more circumspectly next time - who am I trying to kid? - but hopefully I'll last longer. Isn't that what they all say?"
