Bible Belt ready for
Yorkshire Oaks test

JESSICA HARRINGTON is looking forward to the Yorkshire Oaks on Thursday as Bible Belt approaches the race "in great order" as she attempts to win a Group 1 for the first time in her career.

The four-year-old has improved with each run this season, finishing third in the Ballyroan Stakes at Leopardstown last time, when she was arguably unlucky not to be second.

Harrington, writing in her column for the Irish Examiner, said: "The Yorkshire Oaks has been the target for Bible Belt for some time and she is in great order. We were really delighted with her third in the Ballyroan Stakes when she got chopped off a bit at a vital time.

"It has been hard trying to get races for her with the ground, but the Ballyroan run should have put her in peak condition for this."

BetVictor make Bible Belt a 10-1 chance, and have installed The Fugue as 15-8 favourite.

John Gosden's filly won at the top level for the first time at Glorious Goodwood in the Nassau, with William Buick again on board, as he and Gosden will attempt to reap more Group 1 success.

Charlie McCann of BetVictor said: "We feel a fast run 1m2f is her optimum trip; three-year-olds have won the Group 1 contest six times in the last ten years and hold a very strong hand again this year although the French raider Shareta runner up in last year's Arc is the one we want to be with if the ground stays on the faster side of good."
