Kip Deville well fancied to continue winning streak

PREVIEW: CANADA, Sunday

Woodbine: Woodbine Mile (Group 1) 1m

Live on ATR (10.35pm)

BREEDERS' CUP winner Kip Deville (Rick Dutrow/Cornelio Velasquez), unbeaten this year, may well start odds-on to confirm his status as the top turf performer in North America in the Woodbine Mile in Toronto.

The five-year-old, who carries the colours of Big Brown's owners IEAH stables, has unfinished business in Canada after finishing runner-up in last year's race.

On his next outing, Kip Deville won the Breeders' Cup Mile, since when he hasn't tasted defeat.

"He's just been in a zone of his own," Dutrow told the Blood-Horse. "He's incredible. He's doing unbelievable. I'm just really excited about being able to watch him run again.
"He's just so much more confident in himself. Just feels very good about himself, very proud of himself. He's matured into that type of a horse. He's doing great and right on schedule."

The main threat looks to be the former Amanda Perrett-trained Ventura, three times a winner since being transferred to in-form Bobby Frankel, twice a winner of this race since 2000.
