Wolverhampton repeat beckons for Venegazzu
JUST four meetings remain on Tuesday after Pontefract and Fairyhouse were abandoned due to the weather and Venegazzu will bid to follow up his course and distance success of eight days ago at Wolverhampton (3.15).
The Peter Chapple-Hyam-trained three-year-old opened his account by two and a quarter lengths at the track last Monday and he will shoulder a 6lb penalty for that convincing victory when he takes on eight rivals on Tuesday.
Connections said afterwards that Venegazzu had appreciated the visor and he will wear the aide again this afternoon.
But the 11-4 chance faces a tougher task against 2-1 market leader Yours Ever, who is stepping up to 1m4f for the first time.
Tuesday evening's jumping action comes from Roscommon and Uttoxeter but there is also an all-weather fixture at Southwell.
Silvestre de Sousa, who has an 18 per cent strike-rate at Southwell, has six rides on the seven-race card at the track.
