POWER has been restored to Wolverhampton racecourse in the nick of time, meaning racegoers and bookmakers can now attend the fixture as normal.
A cable was cut on Stafford Road, some 300 yards from Dunstall park, leaving the course and surrounding Wolverhampton area without power from 11.15am.
Racegoers were initially told that they couldn't attend because of health and safety issues, although the meeting was still scheduled to take place, with a back-up generator providing power to essential services at the track.
