Franny Norton: banned for 13 days for winning ride at Wolverhampton

APPRENTICE Leonna Mayor was banned for 18 days and Franny Norton for 13 days after breaching whip rules at Wolverhampton on Friday.
Mayor was found to have hit short-head winner Kyncraighe 11 timesin a tight finish to the 7f handicap.
As it was her second offence at the upper level, she was stood down for 18 days - February 3-4, 6-11 and 13-1 plus February 18 & 20-23 - and lost her prize-money for the win.
Franny Norton also fell foul of the whip rules and was banned for 13 days after he was found to have struck Roedean 13 times in the course of driving the filly to an all-the-way head victory in a 7f maiden.
A 13-day ban was the mandatory penalty for his first offence at an upper level. Norton also lost his share of the winner's £2,264 first prize and is suspended on February 3-4, 6-11 and 13-17.
