Hills to end backing for jump racing at Ascot
THE news that the BBC will be covering just 14 days' racing for each of the next three years claimed its first casualty on Sunday when William Hill said they had "no intention" of continuing their sponsorship of jump racing at Ascot after the corporation decided to drop coverage of jumps meetings at the track.

The BBC covered five days' jumping from Ascot in 2008, but those days will be absent from the future schedules, revealed in Sunday's Racing Post, when the broadcaster cuts back its coverage of the sport.
