Cecil waits on weather
for Coco weekend choice
WILD COCO'S weekend appearance will depend on the weather with trainer Lady Cecil considering both the Gain Irish St Leger and Qatar Prix Vermeille for the five-year-old.
Owned by Tomoyuki Nakamura's KI Farm Corporation, Wild Coco was last seen registering a second successive victory in the Group 3 Lillie Langtry Stakes at Glorious Goodwood last month.
The daughter of Shirocco must have some ease in the ground to be seen to best effect and was a late absentee from the Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks when the ground was good to firm at York at fortnight ago.
The going at the Curragh was described as good to firm on Tuesday for Sunday's Irish St Leger while the going at Longchamp is good.
Speaking on Tuesday, Lady Cecil said: "As ever with Wild Coco, plans are entirely ground dependant. We have left her in the Irish St Leger and we will leave her in the French race at Wednesday's forfeit stage.
"It depends on what rain we get between now and the weekend before we decide where she will go."
