West Leake back for more at Lingfield
ALL eyes are on the all-weather this afternoon, with Lingfield the only meeting in Britain to survive the recent arctic blast. A trappy 7f handicap (3.10) provides an intriguing contest for punters to solve.
Elusive Hawk won at Kempton last week in a first-time visor, and the headgear is on again for the nine-year-old, who is favourite for David Evans and Adam Kirby. Paul Burgoyne has West Leake, who also comes into the race off the back of a win, achieved over course and distance last month.
Burgoyne said: "He's capable of winning a race like this and he should be thereabouts again as the handicapper hasn't been too harsh."
Also on the card Ismail Mohammed and apprentice Thomas Brown team up again with Mubtadi, who is seeking a four-timer in the concluding 1m2f handicap. Brown has a 100 per cent strike rate for the yard (five from five) and has been in the saddle for all three of Mubtadi's wins this year.
