Ironic twist: this was the scene at Worcester in January of last year

WORCESTER'S evening meeting next Wednesday is expected to go ahead as scheduled, the BHA said on Friday, as an anticipated visit by the BHA's chief inspector of courses Richard Linley has had to be postponed.
Linley was due to meet officials at the track on Friday to examine arrangements at the venue where racing had to be abandoned on Wednesday due to concerns for horse welfare when supplies of water ran out, but the premature end of that card has not put its next scheduled fixture under threat.
BHA PR manager Paul Struthers said: "There is no reason at this stage for it not to be. The aim of Richard going was to see if anything can be improved.
"It didn't end up being mutually convenient [for Linley's visit], but one of the inspectorate will be visiting Worcester before next Wednesday's meeting. We have not had the report from the Worcester executive but it is on it's way in this evening."
