Lordan's St Leger hopes rely on impending appeal decision
WAYNE LORDAN'S appeal against the three-day careless riding ban imposed on him at Tipperary on August 28 will be heard by the appeals body of the Turf Club on Wednesday at the Curragh.
Lordan's ban, (September 11-13), rules him out of the ride on the Tommy Stack-trained Unsung Heroine in the Ladbrokes St Leger at Doncaster next Saturday. Jamie Spencer is on standby to ride the filly pending the outcome of the appeal.
The Tipperary stewards banned Lordan after relegating his mount, Fastnowfast, to second place after she had beaten Lime Tree Valley, trained by Kevin Prendergast, by a neck in a 7f handicap.
Owner-trainer Flan Costello's appeal against the demotion of Fastnowfast will be heard later on Wednesday morning.
