FOLKESTONE'S meeting on Tuesday has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track.
With heavy rain forecast on top of ground already described as soft, heavy in places, clerk ofthe course Neil Mackenzie Ross called for a 3.30pm inspection on Monday, after which he decided to abandon the following day's fixture.
He said: "It's been persistent all day and water is already gathering in the dips. It just wouldn't be safe to race on such a surface and we've had to abandon.
"It's been soft, heavy in places for a while now and the rain is not forecast to stop before 7pm on Monday, followed by showers through the night, so it's only going to get worse."
Folkestone is the third meeting scheduled for Tuesday to be abandoned, following the defection of Newton Abbot and Newcastle due to waterlogging.
An additional meeting at Southwell will run along side the surviving fixtures at Wolverhampton and Towcester.
