JACKSON (Brett Crawford/Karis Teetan) boosted his Durban July claims with a decisive win, leading over a furlong out to score by three and three-quarter lengths with his rider patting him down the neck in appreciation.
The 1-3 shot was already favourite for the July and is set to be given the maximum 9st permitted for a three-year-old.
Vettel, backed from 16-1 to 9-1, tried to make all and kept on well when headed to take second ahead of 66-1 shot Shogunnar.
Teetan said: "This is the race for which he came to Durban and if he wins the July, that will be a bonus.
"He is a top horse and, while he got beaten by a very good miler in Variety Club in the KRA Guineas, this is his trip."
Crawford added: "He is a fantastic horse. Whenever I feel nervous I go and stand near him, look over the box door at him and I settle! I was very pleased with this performance."

Viva Maria (Mike de Kock/Anthony Delpech) stole the race and brought off a 50-1 shock. Delpech sent her straight to the front and the others, thinking she hadn't a prayer, allowed her to build up a five-length lead.
Turning into the short straight, Delpech kicked and increased his advantage to seven.
The rest were immediately in trouble but at the line Viva Maria was still four lengths clear of stable companion Ilha Bela, the 13-20 favourite.
The winner was not entered for the July but there is a supplementary stage on Monday week. This was De Kock's fifth Woolavington win in 11 years.
