VENALMAR, who missed all of last season due to leg trouble, will have his first run over fences at Thurles on Thursday.
His trainer Mouse Morris said: "Venalmar is ready to start back and will run in the Irish Stallion Farms Beginners Chase over two miles on Thursday."
The seven-year-old won twice over hurdles during the 2007-2008 season and achieved his most important win when landing the Grade 2 Slaney Novice Hurdle at Naas.
He put up his best performance when losing out by a neck to Fiveforthree in the Ballymore Properties NovicesHurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
The Michael O'Flynn-owned runner is a 20-1 shot for the RSA Chase at Cheltenham in March.
