Varian chasing Winter Derby glory with Farraaj
FARRAAJ has been targeted for Lingfield's Group 3 Blue Square Bet Winter Derby since a successful first run on the all-weather, and is favourite to give Roger Varian a first winner in the race.

The four-year-old is yet to finish out of the first three in seven starts and won the Listed Churchill Stakes over today's 1m2f course and distance last November.
Varian said: "This race has been the target since his win in November. He has a decent enough draw [5] and I am happy with his condition. He is quite a lazy worker at home but I am satisfied with how he his moving and on the form book he looks to have a decent chance."
Away from Lingfield, the Betfred Midlands Grand National is the highlight on Uttoxeter's card, while there are also jumps fixtures at Ffos Las and Kempton.
In Ireland Down Royal and Limerick stage cards, and there is all-weather action this evening from Wolverhampton.
