Dominguez hits record with second six-timer
Report: USA, Sunday
Saratoga
JOCKEY Ramon Dominguez achieved the notable feat of riding six winners on a single card at Saratoga on Sunday - for the second time during the seven-week summer meeting at North America's most beloved venue.
Dominguez, who has won the last two Eclipse Awards as the nation's champion jockey, also established a new Saratoga record by taking his tally to 66, two more than the 64 victories recorded by John Velazquez in 2004.
Velazquez also holds a share of the single-day record, having ridden six from ten mounts in September 2001. Dominguez numbered went six from seven on Sunday, just as he did on July 22.
Dominguez's latest half-dozen concluded with a 10-1 success on Unbridled Command in the Grade 3 Saranac. His other winners were Cue The Moon, Native Wave, Dorothy's Spirit, World Premier and Temper In Command.
