Rolling Fog holds on for Grade 1 Futurity victory

ROLLING FOG (Bob Baffert/Rafael Bejarano) held off the late thrust of favourite Know More to give his trainer a record 11th win in the Futurity and earn an automatic spot in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile at Santa Anita on November 3.

The victory was a poignant one for Baffert whose father Bill, known as 'The Chief' died on Monday aged 88.
"I think the Chief gave Rolling Fog a little push turning for home," Baffert wrote on Twitter.
Bejarano added: "This horse had been training so great, and today he ran to it. Great trip today; everything worked out perfect.
"The distance was a bit of a question in my mind with him, but now I see he can handle it. In fact, I think he'll go longer. A really good race for him. He's a nice horse. A very nice horse."
