Mi Sueno retirement confirmed in California
USA: Leading US juvenile filly Mi Sueno, winner of the Grade 1 Darley Debutante at Del Mar, has been retired owing to condylar fracture of her off-fore cannonbone she sustained last week at Hollywood Park.
Trainer Eric Guillot had been non-committal in terms of the filly's future immediately after the injury occurred, but did cite her value as a broodmare should the decision be made to retire her.
The daughter of Pulpit is expected to remain at Hollywood Park for 60 days.
Campaigned by Southern Equine Stables, Mi Sueno was purchased as a weanling for $1.7 million to dissolve a partnership with co-breeder Hill 'n' Dale Farm.
She also won the Grade 3 Sorrento Stakes at Del Mar before beating Sunday's Grade 1 winner Blind Luck in the Debutante.
