Robby Albarado arrested for domestic violence
USA: Top jockey Robby Albarado, best known as the rider of dual horse of the year Curlin, was arrested on Thursday on charges of domestic violence amid allegations that he had tried to strangle his wife Kimber after a row got out of hand.
According to an Associated Press report, Albarado, 37, is accused of breaking his wife's cellphone and attempting to strangle her, leaving red marks around her throat.

PICTURE: Getty ImagesThe jockey, who recently returned to action after a heel injury sustained in January, was released from custody in Louisville on Friday after police responded to a 911 call the previous evening.
He was arrested at his home on charges of wanton endangerment, domestic assault, and intimidating a witness, and will appear in court on Tuesday.
Albarado'swife, who declined medical treatment, took out an emergency protective order against him on Friday.
A Daily Racing Form report quoted Louisville police officer Carey Klain, who said: "Apparently there was an argument that turned physical. A cell phone was taken away and another was broken as she tried to call for help."
