Ingram plots Carnival plan for Silver Grey
ROGER INGRAM has mapped out a plan for his Group-placed filly Silver Grey to run at the 2010 Dubai Carnival at the $1 billion Meydan racecourse - and he cannot wait.
Silver Grey, who cost Ingram 5,000 guineas, was a winner at the trainer's local track Epsom in the summer, finished second in Group 3 at Saint-Cloud in October and has Classic pretensions in Dubai, where Ingram is no stranger to success.
Roger Ingram: has Dubai hopes
PICTURE: Mark Cranham"She flies out on January 17 and there are three races for her," said Ingram on Saturday at Lingfield, "a conditions race on January 28, which is the opening day of the meeting, and then the Guineas and the Oaks.
"They are the only races she can run in, but they are nicely spaced with two-week gaps and hopefully she can run in all three."
Ingram, who won two valuable handicaps at the 2005 Carnival with Boule D'Or, added of Silver Grey: "She's only ever raced on turf, but the surface out there (Tapeta) won't be a problem to her as she works on something similar every day at home.
"In fact she did a bit on it this morning, which was her first bit of work since she came back in a fortnight ago."
