Squance, a former assistant to Paul Howling whose success with Onceuponatime at Wolverhampton on Friday was his ninth winner since taking out a licence two years ago, had been looking for options with his lease at Charnwood Stables in the Hamilton Road ending, and the Meddler's owners, Liz and Russell Reed, were offering the opportunity forhim to have more horses.
"Being a small trainer in this (economic) climate isn't fun, and I've been struggling in terms of numbers, " said the 41-year-old Cornishman. "I will be taking five horses with me, but I should be starting with 20-25, and it is a great chance for me and one I am determined to make the most of.
"Liz and Russell will be supporting me, it's a great place to train, and I can't wait to get started."
