Nordblad out to uphold top Brighton record

JOCKEY Nicole Nordblad heads to Brighton today in a bid to maintain her remarkable record at the track.

The 5lb claimer, who gained her first winner at the course, has figures of 111121 when riding at Brighton with two of those wins and the second coming on Beacon Lady, who she rides in the 1m2f handicap at 3.45.

Beacon Lady’s trainer William Knight said on his website: “She has a unique running style and Nordblad gets on well with her.

“The track at Brighton seems to suit her well - of her five starts there she has won twice and been placed second twice.”

The opposition includes Lady Barastar, who jockey George Baker nominated as his best chance of a winner from four rides at the fixture.

“As long everything goes right at the start she should have a good run round and will be ultra-competitive,” he said on At The Races.
