Scudamore unfazed over longer trips for Dynaste

TOM SCUDAMORE would have no qualms about going back up in trip with Ryanair hero Dynaste, leaving the possibility that the eight-year-old could make up into a Gold Cup contender for next year.

As a novice chaser, Dynaste won the Feltham (3m) and Mildmay (3m1f), and was then runner-up to Cue Card in the Betfair Chase in November.

With the grey's stamina already proven, Scudamore was bullish when questioned about going back up in distance.

Speaking on At The Races, the jockey said: "He has got Grade 1 form over three miles and he was placed in the best staying chase of the season in the Betfair Chase. He is a very, very good horse.

"Stepping him back up in trip holds no fears for him. He is the best horse in the country over two and a half miles but I see no reason why he can't go further. I'm sure there's more good days to come. He is extraordinary and I know when I need him he will not let me down."

Dynaste is a 5-1 chance to defend his Ryanair crown, and as big as 25-1 for next year's Gold Cup.
