Saindor sails to victory for George and Brennan

Report: France, Friday

Auteuil

TOM GEORGE'S love affair with Paris continued in some style as stable debutant Saindor made every yard under Paddy Brennan to land a conditions hurdle worth €48,000.

Brennan took repeated looks over his shoulder and between his legs as his pursuers were at first were reluctant and then unable to bridge the gap.

Saindor started life in bumpers with Ian Williams before joining French trainer Jehan Bertran de Balanda, for whom he made his last start when winning a handicap at Auteuil in March 2011.

"A lot of people have put a lot of effort into him, he's had a few problems," said George. "His work at home has been very good but we didn't expect that.

"We're running a lot of horses over here now and it's been a lucky place for me, so a return has to be high on his agenda for him. That said he's a novice over fences in England, so he's got it all ahead of him."

Saindor was followed home by two high-class chasers making their reappearances after the summer, Rhialco and Shannon Rock.

While the winning margin was three and a half lengths, Brennan had eased right down well before the line.
