Tominator bids to maintain unbeaten start

TOP quality jumps racing takes place on Friday with the first day of the Paddy Power meeting and Tominator is bidding to make it two wins out of two over hurdles in the Grade 2 Opus Energy Novices' Hurdle (2.25).

Bought privately by owner Patsy Byrne from Reg Hollinshead, the five-year-old was a game third on his first run for new connections in the Betfred Cesarewitch and a runaway winner at Bangor on his hurdle debut last month.

The Jonjo O'Neill-trained runner takes a big step up in grade for this 2m½f hurdle which has been won by Cue Card and Steps To Freedom in the last two years.

O'Neill said: "He ran a blinder in the Cesarewitch and then seemed to enjoy himself when winning in easy style at Bangor. I like him and hope he stays on the upward curve."

He faces a strong field however with Dodging Bullets, River Maigue and Court Minstrel all dangers to him.

Racing also takes place over jumps at Newcastle on Friday while all-weather action goes ahead at Lingfield, Wolverhampton and Dundalk.
